With kids and church and work and sports and carpools and meal planning and grocery shopping, how in the world can you possibly tackle Emergency Preparedness?
You want to do it all. You know you should do it all. But since you can't do it all, you do nothing.
72-Hour Kits, Food Storage, Water Storage, Emergency Fund, JUST TELL ME WHERE TO START, RIGHT?!
You have started a billion different projects in the name of Emergency Preparedness, but haven't finished any of them. You even have a Pinterest Board dedicated to things you'll get to...one day...
I create Emergency Preparedness resources for you
I’m a mom of 4 and stepmom of 3. Our life is CRAZY BUSY – just ask our neighbors. 🙈 I know how hard it can be to keep up with the daily demands of having a large family. And I know that working on any sort of emergency preparedness can feel like an insurmountable task.
In fact, that’s why I started this website. I started it so I could help people like you get their families prepared….one day at a time. Over the past couple years, I have been breaking tasks down smaller and smaller, to make them more manageable for busy moms. But that wasn’t enough.
Moms need something they can listen to while they’re doing dishes, or watch while they’re in the carpool line. The result is this video challenge.
This is the first of hopefully many courses to break down important topics so that ANYONE can accomplish them, no matter how crazy their lives are!
“Plan for how awesome MELANIE is!! She is just so great! Her passion and enthusiasm makes what is normally a daunting task feel FUN. I’m so thrilled with the progress I have made and having her to guide me through it all has been delightful. I became sick in the middle of the program and she has been so supportive with helping me manage realistic expectations and keeping the process stress free! You won’t regret signing up!“

I had been putting “emergency preparedness” off for years, intimidated with the idea of doing it and not really knowing where to start.
Enter Melanie. I heard her talk about this challenge where for one month, you do small impactful projects that only take a mere 10-15 minutes a day.
I am SO HAPPY I decided to join. The knowledge I gained is priceless.
Not only is Melanie so knowledgeable and has a true passion for emergency preparedness, but her enthusiasm is infectious. She made me excited and motivated to do the daily tasks.
The course is set up so that you can work at your own pace.
I’ve had conversations with my family and made plans that never crossed my mind. Melanie has truly thought of everything and now I feel more confident if an emergency were to arise.
While the tasks in this first week would be boring for kids, this week is essential for the success of the rest of the month.
These are the days where you set things up, ensuring you have the tools and knowledge you’ll need to have things go smoothly the rest of the month.
You will be
Once you complete Week 1, you will be prepared to bring your teenagers in on the action for Weeks 2 & 3.
This week you will start putting what you learned/acquired last week into action.
You will be learning (and teaching your teens)
You will also
This week you will continue working with your older-ish kids and learning together.
You will be
Once you complete Week 3, you will be prepared to bring your kids of all ages in on the action for Week 4.
This week is the culminating event of the entire month.
By now you will have the tools and knowledge to teach your children of all ages about the following topics:
Once you complete Week 4, your ENTIRE FAMILY will have a better understanding of multiple emergencies and what they can do to stay safe.
You will have real tools, printed instructions, and a firm plan going forward as a family.
Now if that isn’t PLANNING FOR AWESOME, I don’t know what is!
I felt the need to get more prepared and that’s why I took this course. I learned so many things and I feel so much more confident about what to do in emergencies now. I love that each day the task was only about 15 minutes long, it was easy to accomplish and it gave me a sense of being more prepared even doing just that little thing every day. I loved seeing how our local communities are different and so our emergency plans for each area of the country are different and that was super helpful to learn as well.

YES, YES, YES! This is absolutely for EVERYONE! Although I have included helpful tips and resources to teach children along the way, the actual tasks are just as important to do, whether you have kids or not.
YES! I mean, if you hop on Amazon to buy a flashlight and decide to do your Christmas shopping while you’re on there, then I can’t make any promises. I will admit, there are a couple days where it’s going to take a very full and focused 15 minutes. But there are also a handful of days that will take you under 5 minutes, so…🤷♀️
This is a self-paced schedule. You can definitely lump days together. Life happens! In fact, many people choose to do an entire week’s tasks in one day (often over the weekend).
No. You need to follow the schedule in order because some days build on previous days and you don’t want to get stuck later on down the road.
97. Not a typo. 97. But that’s because it’s pretty. There aren’t very many words on a bunch of the pages. Don’t worry.
The printer-friendly version is only 30 pages.
The ebook is great, but the videos are even better! The videos have been updated to reflect the input of over 150 past course members. We dive deeper into topics in the videos, and there are more examples. The videos also make it easier to accomplish, because you can just listen/watch instead of having to read the instructions each day.
The digital and printable files are there for you to be able to refer back to the information without having to watch the videos again if you don’t want to.
This course uses an updated version of the ebook, “Quick & Easy Preparedness” (formerly named “One Month of Emergency Preparedness for Families”) as its curriculum. The ebook is no longer available for individual purchase in the shop – it comes as part of the course. If the ebook has been sitting unopened since you got it, then I highly recommend getting the course. If you did the first day or two and then got distracted, get the course! This video course has helped several people finish what they started and GET IT DONE!
Yes and no. I truly hope you’ll share this with them – but I also truly hope you will be honest and pay for each household’s own course and curriculum. Please direct your friends and family to this page where they can purchase their own course, or go ahead and snag one for them separately today! Thank you so much for your integrity. That’s what allows me to continue to make products like this for you!
