What is the shelf life of food from Thrive Life?

The most important things to know about the shelf life of Thrive Life food:

  1. With a few exceptions, cans have a shelf life of 25 years.
  2. Once opened, most foods will stay good for 6-12 months in a sealed container.

Pro Tips for prolonging the shelf life once opened

  • Make sure you transfer the food into a container that has a tight seal if you don’t plan to consume it within a couple weeks. This is especially important with the fruits and veggies. My family loves to snack on the cinnamon apple slices, but man do they get mushy/chewy after a couple weeks if left in the original can.
  • If you’re just wanting to try something out, get the pantry size can the first time. That way if you end up not liking it, you’re not stuck with a whole #10 can or tossing a bunch out.
  • Pay attention to the once opened timeline. It’s there for a reason.

Does Thrive Life use preservatives?

For those who are concerned with chemicals in food (we probably all should be, but I know it’s more of a priority for some than others), Thrive does not use any preservatives, additives or GMOs in their food.

To keep the food fresh longer, they follow their Nutrilock process. In short, that looks like:

  1. Partnering with farmers who are all about quality over quantity.
  2. Foods are harvested at their nutritional peak.
  3. Food is flash frozen within hours of picking.
  4. The freeze drying process removes moisture and locks in nutrients.

Basically, when you open a can of any Thrive Life food, all you’re getting is that food (with very few exceptions). Broccoli = Broccoli. There are a few things that have some seasoning added to it, but you’ll see that spelled out directly on the can. For example, the Chicken Slices actually say ‘Cooked Seasonsed White Meat’ on the can label.

Does Thrive Life food contain common allergens?

Let’s go ahead and get the obvious out of the way; read the nutritional label of everything before you purchase if you’re concerned about food allergies! Just like you would in a grocery store.

That being said, MOST of Thrive Life’s foods are allergen free and non-GMO. Here are the exceptions to this:

Where does thrive life food come from?

Another thing I love about Thrive Life is that most of the foods are from local USA farmers. Again, there are some exceptions, but I’ll gladly support farmers who care about quality no matter where they live!
